Deciding on Kenya Nairobi Hotels Ahead of an Overseas Trip

Not being a citizen or regular visitor to Kenya, or its capital Nairobi, knowing where or how to start one's holiday planning can be quite a challenge, even for a not-so-first-time traveller.
Kenya Nairobi hotels, when searched for online, can prove to be even harder to choose from and compare against each other, seeing vocational expectations and hoped-for experiences differ from trip-to-trip, notwithstanding a sought after schedule that demands a central location when deciding on these Kenya Nairobi hotels.
So best place to start is by establishing which venue links most easily to one's options of airlines for time and convenience; consider for example that 49 airlines serve Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ... that's the first milestone towards short listing Kenya Nairobi hotels.

So best place to start is by establishing which venue links most easily to one's options of airlines for time and convenience; consider for example that 49 airlines serve Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ... that's the first milestone towards short listing Kenya Nairobi hotels.
Next, if say only a 5-star hotel will do when it comes to selecting from a range of Kenya Nairobi Hotels, then we might check the capital city's geography - maybe through Google Maps - for the most proximal location given ones itinerary.
For the above it might be helpful to bring to bear one's desired attractions or must-see sites. If for instance civil architecture or heritage tops the tour list, then UN buildings naturally come to mind in the case of the former, with Nairobi National Museum sufficing for the latter ... get the grip?
To take stock of our mission thus far:
  • In planning and deciding on our place of stay while in Kenya, we have through airport service statistics identified Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, making Nairobi city our holiday setting by default.
  • Then, with our diary of events and activities we decided on some sites and places of interest, to wit, UN buildings to fulfil architectural inclinations, as well as the Nairobi National Museum for hankerings after heritage ... great so far!
Now we need to survey and sift through the myriad of Kenya Nairobi Hotels within the zoned-in radius of connecting-flight convenience to leisurely hotspots (keeping in mind that we're not willing to compromise on 5-starliving while away).
Using this approach it should be evident that within 2 kilometres of each other (places to see) and under 20 kilometres from the aforementioned airport, ranks top of the results Southern Sun Mayfair Nairobi... which happens to be 3 kilometres away from Aga Khan Hospital.
Having made our pick, it's advisable to verify features and in-house facilities there prior to booking or checking-in:
  • For the few-and-far-between business needs to be met, we learn that Southern Sun Mayfair comes fully equipped with a conference hall, 8 in total, with the necessary resources such as telephones, computer connection facilities (ADSL or wireless)plus presentation tools replete with flipchart-boards and bespoke menu options where necessary
  • When it comes to not dropping the ball on a strict gym routine, the Health Centre is also fully kitted and at one's disposal, with spa enhancements and the likes
  • There's access to an in-house shopping mall and comprehensive library
  • Two world-class restaurants to dine in from as early as 10AM to 11PM
... at this stage of the planning, it all comes down to preference and passion with the luxury of a 24 hour service-desk a mere call away - it's just getting this far that's a pest!
Bon Voyage!
